Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson News: Actress No Regrets Over 'Twilight' Despite Ultimate Pattinson Split

Kristen Stewart became famous for playing Bella Swan in "The Twilight Saga." And while the role didn't win her any major awards and the franchise was either passionately loved or hated by people, the actress says that she has no regrets and that she's proud of her work on the multibillion-dollar vampire franchise.

"I mean, it was a long process, so it's hard to generalize about it as a whole," said Stewart to Patti Smith about working on "Twilight" for an Interview magazine piece. "It wasn't entirely cohesive. We ebbed and flowed. I will definitely acknowledge that. But the intention is so [expletive] pure in a weird way. Anybody who wants to talk [expletive] about 'Twilight', I completely get it, but there's something there that I'm endlessly, and to this day, proud of. My memory of it felt — still feels — really good."

Though Stewart had her Hollywood breakout playing opposite Jodie Foster in 2002's "Panic Room," the actress was catapulted into fame when she starred in the film adaptation of Stephenie Meyer's best-selling novel "Twilight" in 2008. Four sequels followed between 2009 and 2012, during which time the actress and her co-star Robert Pattinson entered into a highly publicized relationship, before ending in a 2012 cheating scandal and their subsequent split.

Stewart has worked on other films since then such as "Snow White and the Huntsman," Clouds of Sils Maria," and the critically acclaimed "Still Alice," but to her fans, she will always be Bella and she says that she's fine with that.

"Every movie that I've done, they don't stand independently from one another because a little bit of me is in every single one of those, and it's part of my own personal growth," she continued. "I can't say that 'Twilight' doesn't have anything to do with 'Still Alice' and 'Sils Maria'. They have everything to do with each other. They are who I am."

Stewart will be seen in three movies coming up this year — the futuristic love story "Equals," "American Ultra" and "Anesthesia."
