Kutcher Tried to Avoid $290 Million Court Battle With Expensive Gift

In the wake of Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore's divorce it has been reported that Kutcher in a last ditch effort tried to win Moore back with an expensive gift.

TMZ learned from a source, that Kutcher bought an eco-friendly car, a 2012 Lexus LS 600h L, costing an estimated $100,000.

Making the purchase on Nov. 9, it was two days before Moore's birthday.

It is unknown if the actress accepted the gift or not, but it didn't prevent the divorce from happening.

The marriage was announced to be over last Thursday after six years in the Hollywood spotlight.

Kutcher allegedly cheated on Moore while in San Diego with Sara Leal, 22, while she was at a premiere for her directorial debut.

Leal told Us Weekly that she was intimate with Kutcher on Sept. 24 and claims Kutcher said he and Moore were separated at the time.

Kutcher and Moore each released statements regarding their divorce, with Kutcher Tweeting, “I will forever cherish the time I spent with Demi. Marriage is one of the most difficult things in the world and unfortunately sometimes they fail. Love and Light, AK.”

Moore released a statement saying, “It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I have decided to end my six-year marriage to Ashton. As a woman, a mother and a wife there are certain valued and vows that I hold sacred, and it is in this spirit that I have chosen to move forward with my life. This is a trying time for me and my family, and so I would ask for the same compassion and privacy that you would give to anyone going through a similar situation."
