"Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" season 15 is in full swing with its latest installment entitled "Gridiron Soldier" airing tonight.

With so much happening to Mariska Hargitay's character Olivia Benson this season, fans are anxious to see what the rest of the season has in store for the detective. Fortunately for the viewers who cannot wait until Wednesday's episode, an insider at TV Guide revealed scoop on Benson and Cassidy.

"I'm hearing that a breakup is in the works, but who instigates it will surprise you," the insider said.

Also indicating a breakup between the characters, Dean Winters who portrays Cassidy just joined the cast of CBS' "Battle Creek."

"Gridiron Soldier" airs Wednesday, March 5 at 9 p.m. EST Wednesday on NBC. The synopsis on TV Guide reads: "A football recruit from Georgia visits a college in New York City and winds up in jail after he becomes the victim of a hazing prank. The police then investigate the school's football program and uncover a pattern of abuse. Meanwhile, Rollins seeks help from a friend as her personal problems intensify."

Meanwhile, Hargitay opened up about the episode where Benson faced her attacker earlier this season. The actress referred to the organization she founded which provides support for sexual abuse victims, Joyful Heart.

"[A] lot of time people sort of put Benson up on a pedestal, right? Because they think she's so strong, 'I wish I could be like that.' A lot of this is sort of Joyful Heart-induced and I always say, 'She's not so strong.' We can't define ourselves by an event. That's something that happened to you," the actress explained backstage at NBC's "Today."

During this season, Benson faces the captor that she escaped in the safety of a courtroom in high-drama chapter of "Law & Order" entitled "Save Benson." In it, Benson became a survivor, just like the women Hargitay helps through Joyful Heart.

"I think it was important for her to face him again because she can, and victims, I feel, need to sometimes be reminded of their own inner strength," she said. "That's what I wanted to do. Yes, it's a struggle. I couldn't take any of the advice I've been giving people all these years because it's different once you're in it and it just shows how hard it is and how courageous she is. But that's what I love about her."
