'Law and Order: SVU' Season 17 Spoilers, Plot News: Violinist Raped By Co-Band Member; Rollin's Mom Throws A Baby Shower

Things are about to get even more interesting as the 17th season of the hit police-procedural drama TV series "Law and Order: SVU" continues this week with an episode that will see the Special Victims Unit tackling a rape case. Meanwhile, the drama surrounding the family of Detective Rollins swells up.

Citing the synopsis for the episode titled "Maternal Instinct" on The Futon Critic, it said Rollin's mother, Beth, will be throwing a baby shower. However, what is interesting in this segment is the reappearance of her sister, Kim, who is a fugitive from the law.

Meanwhile, the SVU reports to a call in a four-star hotel where a "famous violinist" got raped by one of her colleagues, Anton Krasnikov. The latter told the investigators that he doesn't remember anything about the crime let alone committing it. He further feigned innocence by claiming that he himself got drugged and robbed by an escort he hired.

Evidences soon lead the trail towards the involvement of Rollins' sibling who is an outlaw.

The teaser promo for the new series installment showed Rollins getting the shock of her life at seeing Kim. The two seemed to have a conversation with the mother-to-be warning her sister "they're going to find you."

Despite her efforts to cover up for Kim's whereabouts, the clip seems to suggest that the whole department will - in some way - get hold of the information as Sgt. Olivia Benson is heard asking someone to tell them "where she [Kim] is right now."

This should be a tough situation for Rollins who, in the end, will have to ensure the welfare of her family or to uphold justice which she has sworn to do in the first place.

The new episode will also get to see Sgt. Mike Dodds reporting for duty at the SVU.

"Law & Order: SVU" Season 17 airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. on NBC.
