'LawBreakers' Is Not Doing So Well; Cliff Bleszinki Plans Ahead to Save the Game
"LawBreakers" is currently not doing so well either in terms of sales or players online. Cliff Bleszinski, the founder of Boss Key Studios which developed the game, shares his thoughts on how they plan to grow the game.
During a recent interview, Bleszinksi sat down to analyze the situation, and he took it from an important starting point. "Well, I think we made a darn good shooter," he shared with GameSpot. It will be round this premise that they would be planning to claw their way back in terms of player numbers.
For one thing, one avenue that Bleszinski and Boss Key could be looking at is in promoting the game as a serious, competitive title.

"We need to do what we can to let people know this is a really sweaty palm type of experience that can hopefully lend itself to eSports. But you know, I have to keep this game alive, first and foremost," he said, noting that he himself could try to be less abrasive on social media in doing so, as ComicBook quoted.
Aside from having a reputation of being brash and outspoken on social media, the "Gears of War" designer also touched on a few missteps they, as a team, have made during the game's launch. One glaring omission in the "LawBreakers" debut was the lack of a Team Deathmatch mode, which Bleszinski blamed on his own stubbornness.
"I didn't want to do the exact same stuff everybody else did," he explained. "I think it was a mistake to not ship with it, I was stubborn," he admitted, noting that even with the glut of Team Deathmatch games like "Overwatch," it was still something that players are flocking to in huge numbers.
There's also the matter of timing, with the recent launch of "Destiny 2" eclipsing any upcoming or recent titles. The team is taking the revival effort one step at a time, though.
"It's a marathon, not a sprint," the Boss Key chief reminds everyone.
