LeAnn Rimes recently sat down for a candid interview with talk show host Katie Couric and the troubled singer opened up about her inner pain and subsequent 30-day stint in rehab.

Rimes, whose 2009 extramarital affair with Eddie Cibrian negatively impacted her singing career, has spent months addressing ongoing criticisms about their marriage. The 30-year-old was reportedly overcome with stress and anxiety following the public backlash and she openly spoke to Couric about her troubles.

"I feel like I am starting over even though I've had all these years behind me. How many people get to [start] over again in this day and age?" Rimes told Couric.

"People look at you and go, 'Why are you struggling?' No one can quite understand why you hurt so badly," she went on.

Rimes has been embroiled in an ongoing feud with Cibrian's ex-wife Brandi Glanville, who was married to him at the time of the affair. New reports suggest that the country music singer's admission into rehab was in part due to stress from the constant criticism about her marriage; her fears that Cibrian has been unfaithful in their 1-year marriage, could have also played a part, according to RadarOnline.com.

"LeAnn is beyond stressed about the cracks in her relationship with Eddie and she has been really scared that he is cheating on her," a source reportedly told RadarOnline.com.

"LeAnn called a friend of hers a few weeks ago sobbing hysterically about Eddie going out. She was home for the weekend and he didn't stay in with her and she was crying saying that she was so worried about what he was doing when he wasn't with her," the insider went on.

Rimes has previously engaged in various Twitter wars with critics who have openly condemned her marriage to Cibrian. The singer recently admitted that the negative tweets do have an effect on her.

"I think it's really hard to deal with Twitter and Facebook," Rimes told The Boston Herald. "And it's hard to take it day after day of reading and seeing things that someone you don't even know says about you. As much as you said you don't want it to penetrate, it does, because you're human."

Rimes' interview will air on the "Katie" show Thursday and on "All Access Nashville with Katie Couric," a special edition of "20/20," Friday at 9 p.m. ET.
