'Legends of Tomorrow' cast update: Hawkman confirmed as series regular, cast gets expanded before pilot episode

The upcoming superhero series "Legends of Tomorrow" is still set to premiere next year in CW but fans are already catching some great updates from the show. The latest one is the series regular confirmation of Hawkman who was previously thought to be just a guest character.

According to News Arama, executive producer Phil Klemmer confirmed that the winged superhero would be present in every episode of "Legends of Tomorrow" and will also be in the crossovers with "The Flash" and "Arrow." The character will be played by actor Falk Hentschel whose role will most likely be paired up with Hawkgirl played by Ciara Renee.

Klemmer cleared up some speculations like Hawkman taking away the limelight from Hawkgirl. He commented, "It doesn't, because the way we've imagined them is that they've obviously been reincarnated through the ages together. But the fact that he remembers their previous lives and she doesn't...it gives them very much like a Bogie & Bacall sort of [relationship]."

He also revealed that the two will constant fight just as how it ran with Geoff John's "Hawkman" and JSA comic series. Dispatch Times noted that the relationship of the two will not center on romance and the show will try to stay away the sentimentality of the couple.

As of the moment, the superhero show has now 10 main characters already starting from Firestorm, The Atom, White Canary, Rip Hunter, Hawkgirl, Jay Jackson, Heat Wave, Captain Cold and Hawkman. Included in the list also are villain Vandal Savage played by Casper Crump and "The Flash" and "Arrow" stars Grant Gustin and Stephen Amell who are just going to make appearances. The cast is certainly packed but even so, Klemmer made an assurance to fans that all of the characters will appear in every episode, reports Francise Herald.

"DC's Legends of Tomorrow" is expected to premiere in January on The CW but the storyline will start in tie-in episodes of "The Flash" and "Arrow" in late 2015.
