'Legends of Tomorrow' Season 3: EP Phil Klemmer Confirms New DC Characters Next Season

With "Legends of Tomorrow" season 2 coming to a close, fans are excited to know where the next season is headed. The latest reports about season 3 suggest that new characters will be added in the next installment, as hinted by executive producer Phil Klemmer.

The season 1 finale saw a significant change in the slate of the Legends. Captain Cold/Leonard Snart (Wentworth Miller) almost died, while Kendra Saunders/Hawkgirl (Ciara Renée) and Carter Hall/Hawkman (Falk Hentschel) left the team. As the season ended, the team was labeled the Justice League of America.

Now that season 2 is about to end, many are interested to know if the finale will tease the new storylines and characters that will be introduced in the next season.

Recently, Klemmer revealed that season 3 will see fresh faces. However, he said that the upcoming season isn't fully established yet.

"We haven't fully pitched it, but we've got great ideas, and hopefully the studio and network agree. But so much of the show is working well this year. You just want to play your strengths, and keep having fun," he said.

According to Klemmer, the season 2 finale will have some major tease, just as how the season 1 finale had a major season 2 tease. He said the nature of the show does not only allow the slate to change constantly but also allows the show to bring in new characters from the DCTV universe.

Klemmer said that since "Legends of Tomorrow" is a time travel show, the only thing that's not going to change in the show is that it always changes.

It was previously reported that an established character from DC Comics will be joining the series in the upcoming season. Right now, fans already have speculations as to who the character will be, but the creators of the series have yet to confirm.

"Legends of Tomorrow" airs Tuesdays, 9 p.m. EDT on The CW.
