LG G3 Vigor vs HTC Desire 612 Review: Specs, Features Comparison

Getting entry-level devices from top manufacturers is the way to go to get a good smartphone without the sticker shock. Two good examples of great quality smartphones at low prices are the LG G3 Vigor, and the HTC Desire 612. The devices have plenty in common as both are well-built and have impressive battery life, and they both run on the Android OS.

Here, we compare the LG G3 Vigor with the HTC Desire 612.

Design:
The LG G3 Vigor measures 5.42 x 2.74 x 0.41 inches and weighs 4.73 ounces. It takes its design cues from the G3, so it has the same curved back and thin bezels. For Sprint, it comes in two color choices—burgundy red and black, while the Vigor from AT&T only comes in white.

Meanwhile, the HTC Desire 612 measures 5.66 x 2.77 x 0.37 inches and weighs 5.15 ounces. It's made of plastic and has rounded, rubberized edges. The device only comes in black.

Features:
The LG G3 Vigor has a 5-inch, 1280 x 720 pixel IPS display. The screen is nowhere near the quality of the original G3's 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution, but colors look sharp and bright on the Vigor, and it's easy to view images or read text even in direct sunlight.

The HTC Desire 612 has a smaller screen with a lower resolution. The display measures 4.7 inches with a resolution of 960 x 540, but image colors are still vivid, though perhaps not as detailed as those viewed on the G3 Vigor.

The G3 Vigor and the HTC Desire 612 have the same 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, and while the Desire 612 runs on Android 4.4 with HTC's Sense 6 Skin on top, the Vigor runs on Android 4.4 with LG's Optimus UI on top.

Both phones come with 8GB internal storage, and both can be expanded with a microSD card.

Both phones also have an 8MP rear-facing camera, and though they take decent pictures, both phones' cameras are not the devices' strongest features.

Price:
The LG G3 Vigor costs $29.99 from Sprint, while the HTC Desire 612 is free from Verizon.
