LG G4 Release Date, Specs News: Android 5.1 Lollipop OS Coming With Device

During the Mobile World Congress last week, there were still some people who expected LG to announce its upcoming flagship – the G4. However, the lack of rumors before the event was a clear indicator that the Korean manufacturer was not ready to launch the high-end device.

Now in a new report by Phone Arena, the LG G4 was spotted via its rumored user agent profile with the model number LG-H818. In the report, the device was spotted running on Android 5.1 Lollipop.

Currently, there are very few handsets that are powered by the latest Android update for Lollipop.

In recent reports, Android 5.1 Lollipop is said to feature better RAM management, a more efficient energy saver, improved performance and fixed problems. The leak reportedly came from html5test, a website that serves as a benchmark for various platforms.

In the report, the device was spotted running Android 5.1, specifically the LMY29F version. This is reportedly the same build that runs on Android One-powered devices.

While the LG G4 may have missed the MWC 2015 in Barcelona, it still promises to pack some of the industry's best specs.

Based on rumors, the new flagship will feature the same QHD or 2K (2560 x 1440) resolution of the G3, probably a Snapdragon 810, and a better camera.

In an interview with a company executive, the delay in the phone's announcement is actually a factor that LG will take advantage of in order to perfect the device when it hits the market.
