LG G6 Rumors: Smartphone Gets Stamp of Approval From Ergonomics Expert
On Monday, during its unveiling event in Barcelona, Spain, the LG G6 got a stamp of approval from an ergonomics expert.
Smartphone presentations usually focus on a device's hardware and software specifications, but a good amount of the LG G6 event was about ergonomics. LG decided to ditch the hype for a curved edge display and went with just thinner bezels.

LG is obviously going after an ergonomic smartphone design with the G6, and to prove it, they invited an expert to attest to it.
"Smartphone manufacturers tend to focus on specs. But I think they forgot some basic principles: usability. We checked the G6 from the eyes of an ergonomist, and we found that the G6 is different from other phones on the market," explained Dr. Andris Freivalds (via Forbes), a professor and expert on ergonomics from Penn State University.
Freivalds added that according to their research, the ideal design for smartphones is for its width not to go over 72 millimeters. This was met by the LG G6.
The professor also explained what might be LG's reason for not going after the curved edge trend.
"We also found that with curved displays, aka edge screens, users felt more tired holding the phone and had more erroneous touches," Freivalds explained.
Easy to Handle With Big Enough Specs
While it is obvious that the LG G6 nailed the ergonomics department, it is also safe to say that the device does not fall short in the specifications department as well.
The bigger screen feel is made possible by what LG calls their "FullVision" technology that gives it an 18:9 screen ratio coupled with a Quad High Definition plus (QHD+) display and 2,880 x 1,440 pixel resolution.
The LG G6 runs with the Android Nougat software and is protected by an IP68 level of water and dust resistance. It is also powered by an ample Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 that is equipped with four cores running at 2.4-gigahertz clock speed.
In terms of multimedia support, the LG G6 works with Dolby Vision and HDR 10. It is also the first Snapdragon 821 device with the ability to perform automatic image stabilization and gives a smooth zoom for 4K video recording. It sports a 13-megapixel dual-lens rear camera plus a 5MP front shooter.
An ample 3,300 milliampere hour battery comes with the device. The battery supports Quick Charge 3.0 technology that enables a smartphone to regain power four times faster than the usual.
In the memory department, the LG G6 is equipped with 4 GB random access memory and a 32 GB read-only memory plus a microSD slot to expand the storage size to as much as 2 TB.
Reports expect the LG G6 to be out in the market on March 10 while it is speculated to be priced within the range of the iPhone 7 and Samsung Galaxy S7.
