Liam Neeson Declares Himself To Be 'Unretired' From Action Movies

It seems Liam Neeson isn't ready to throw in the towel on his action film career despite having announced his retirement not too long ago. Now, the 65-year-old says he is unretired and will be doing until they "bury him in the ground."

Neeson made the statement at the premiere of his new film "Mark Felt: The Man Who Brought Down the White House." This is after he announced back in 2015 that he is thinking about retiring in two years time.

"It's not true, look at me! You're talking in the past tense," said Neeson. "I'm going to be doing action movies until they bury me in the ground. I'm unretired."

And why should he? His career isn't going nowhere not with the success of the "Taken" franchise. In fact, he reveals that he often gets quite a few action-oriented scripts.

Despite being 65, Neeson is still considered "young" compared to the likes of Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger who despite being in their 70s are still starring in action films as if they were still in their prime. If they can do it, there's no reason why he can't also.

Aside from the "Taken" series which he is best known for, Neeson has also starred in films such as "Star Wars: Episode 1 – The Phantom Menace," the "A-Team," and "A Million Ways To Die In The West." He also lent his voice to Aslan from "The Chronicles of Narnia."

In his most recent film "Mark Felt," Neeson plays the role of the whistleblower Mark Felt, an FBI agent who earned the nickname "Deep Throat" for leaking top secret information to the press about the Watergate scandal in the early 1970's.

The film was written and directed by Peter Landesman. It also stars Tony Goldwyn (who plays Ed Miller) and Julian Morris (who plays Bob Woodward) and was produced by Jerry Bruckheimer.
