'Limitless' Cast News, Update: Jennifer Carpenter Reunites With 'Dexter' Co-Star

For those who are already anticipating for the arrival of CBS' TV series adaptation to the 2011 action-adventure movie, "Limitless," they may have other reasons to get excited about.

A new casting report from The Hollywood Reporter said that cast member Jennifer Carpenter will be joined by her "Dexter" co-star, Desmond Harrington, in the upcoming freshman season of the CBS drama.

According to the publication, the "Astronaut Wives Club" star will play as the love interest for Carpenter's character Rebecca Harris.

As further divulged by the media outlet, Harrington will debut in the fifth episode of the show as Casey Rooks, "a special agent with the FBI SWAT team who has a background in martial arts, combat sports and meditation, all of which inform his quiet but formidable presence."

Rooks is assigned to train Brian Sinclair (Jake McDorman). The character was, at first, quite impressed and then later on grew jealous of Brian's quickness in picking up the skills that took him years to master. Driven with the intention to uncover his secrets, Rooks will be keeping a close eye on the newcomer.

However, it appears that it's not only Brian who's got something to hide. THR teased that Casey has a "covert love affair" with Brian's boss, Harris (Carpenter).

"Limitless" executive producer Alex Kurtzman previously teased during another interview with the publication that Bradley Cooper, who starred as Eddie Morra in the movie, won't only serve as a showrunner but also as its cast member.

As found out, the "American Sniper" star's character is already a presidential hopeful in the series. He will pay Brian a visit to help him come to terms with the super drug NZT-48.

For the uninitiated, the said mysterious substance increases the user's IQ several folds. Not only that, it also enables the taker to accurately recall everything he has ever read, heard, or seen.

The series, which also features the acts of Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio as Naz Pouran and Hill Harper as Spellman Boyle, is slated to air this September 22 on CBS.
