Lindsay Lohan is currently in rehab but will soon be leaving the facility. Amid much speculation, Dina Lohan said that her daughter will be coming home to stay with family.
"She's not going to live in Los Angeles," Dina told New York's Daily News. "She will definitely start back home with all of us."
The elder Lohan also spoke about her daughter's birthday, which she celebrated in Cliffside Malibu with the friends she made there. Lindsay was not allowed out for the day, which she had hoped for.
"It was a very calm, low-key birthday. We couldn't visit because it fell during the week, but we mailed her cards and gifts. We're going to work it out to all go visit her again, and then we're planning the pool party," Dina said.
Former lawyer Shawn Holley paid Lindsay a birthday visit and is considered part of the Lohan family. She was the one who managed to get Lindsay into the Cliffside Malibu facility after Lindsay wanted to leave Betty Ford.
"Shawn has been so supportive and such an angel," Dina said. "She's our guardian angel."
"It's been a long road, but she's going to be fine," Dina said of her daughter.
Rumors surfaced that Lindsay planned to retreat from the public eye after getting out of rehab. She will have to serve 30 days of community service and undergo 18 months of psychological therapy. Lohan reportedly wants to work on her sobriety instead of immediately returning to the entertainment industry.
The actress was in jeopardy of going to jail had Holley not brokered a deal with the Cliffside Malibu facility. Lohan is under a 90-day order from a judge in order to complete the treatment plan. Once she is out, she will still be under close supervision by the court and must keep her record clean.
Michael Lohan has played a critical role in the rehab process, as well, but it is likely that Lindsay will do better under the care of her mother for the time being.
