'Longmire' Season 4 May Be Headed to Netflix

Ever since it was announced that "Longmire" was cancelled, fans of the show never stopped hoping that it would find a new home in another network. Early reports indicated that the show was being shopped to other networks as well as streaming services. And now, it has reported that "Longmire" is in deep negotiations with Netflix for its much-awaited fourth season to start airing on the streaming service soon.

Negotiation between the parent company of "Longmire" and Netflix have been ongoing, and if the deal goes through, then the show would go back into productions in March for what the website reports could be a summer premiere date. However, negotiations have been reportedly "tricky" and there is a chance that a final agreement may not be reached, though both sides want this to happen, Deadline reported.

After "Longmire" was cancelled, Warner Horizon immediately launched efforts to find a new home for the series. Considering that the show was A&E's most-watched original scripted series of all time, averaging 5.6 million viewers in Season 3, the news of the show's cancellation was a big shock for fans. In September, loyal viewers of the show took to Twitter to bring more attention to "Longmire" and to demand its return. Since then, the future of the show seemed quite uncertain, until 'Longmire' actor Lou Diamond Phillips said back in October that there was "good news headed our way."

In a recent interview with GLOBE magazine for its Nov. 24 issue, Adam Bartley, who plays Ferguson on the show, requested the fans of the show to keep on supporting the cause to bring "Longmire" back.

"We're asking everyone who loves Longmire to lend a hand to our 'Long Live Longmire' campaign," said Bartley. "There's definitely been some progress made. A lot of us are feeling very, very excited about the possibilities. There's a good chance we could hear some very good news very soon."
