'Longmire' Season 6: Cast Shares BTS Photos as Filming Begins; Lou Diamond Phillips Directing

The cast and crew of "Longmire" have just reunited for the filming of season 6, which will serve as the final season of the Netflix series.

Cast members have been keeping fans up to date on social media. Adam Bartley, who is known as The Ferg to the "Longmire" faithful, shared a group photo as they all reunite in New Mexico, where the series is filmed.

Bartley also revealed that the second episode of "Longmire" season 6 will be directed by Lou Diamond Phillips, who plays the role of Henry Standing Bear in the series. This will be the first time Phillips will pull double duty as both actor and director on the show although he is not new to directing, having helmed episodes of "Twilight Zone" revival and the anthology series "The Outer Limits."

Fans are understandably excited about his "Longmire" season 6 directing stint. After all, Phillips' performance as Henry Standing Bear is already adored by many.

Meanwhile, Netflix is also looking for a stand-in for Phillips in "Longmire" season 6. There is no word on why there is a need for such and when it will take place.

Katee Sackhoff, on the other hand, shared a snippet of a "Longmire" season 6 script featuring a line said by her character Vic, showing her nerdy side. The line reads, "Buddy you might as well be speaking Klingon to me."

The neat "Star Trek" reference made the actress ecstatic, even calling it a "Longmire" and Star Trek" crossover. "I wonder if this is the writers being cheeky? Either way I totally approve," she wrote in the caption.

With the "Longmire" season 6 just beginning, there will be a long wait before it premieres. Bartley imagines that the new episodes will arrive in September. The show has always premiered on Netflix on the said month.
