Los Angeles Clippers Sale: Diddy, Magic Jognson Interested In Buying?

Sean "Diddy" Combs may be interested in buying the Los Angeles Clippers after the NBA officially banned owner Donald Sterling from all involvement with the league and team following a racist display caught on audio tape.

Donald Sterling, the 80-year-old Jewish lawyer, real estate investor and owner of the Clippers, was banned for life from NBA proceedings by NBA commissioner Adam Silver Tuesday. After TMZ released audio of Sterling telling his former mistress V. Stiviano not to associate with black people, the NBA fined him $2.5 million and said he was working to overthrow his position with a 75 percent vote from other NBA team owners.

If that does indeed happen, 44-year-old rap mogul Diddy has expressed interest in buying the team.

"I will always be a Knicks fan, but I am a business man. #DiddyBuyTheClippers #NameYourPrice," Diddy tweeted. "Seriously….I applaud Commissioner Silver and the @NBA for quick and decisive action. #BiggerThanBasketball."

The rap mogul and businessman is reportedly worth $700 million, according to Forbes magazine and seems to be on track to become hip-hop's first billionaire. While Diddy seems interested in purchasing the Clippers, former NBA star turned successful businessman Magic Johnson is not.

"To NBA Fans, I want to put a stop to a rumor," Johnson tweeted. "I am not trying to buy the Clippers, they already have an owner."

Johnson was named in Sterling's racist recording that resulted in the owner being ousted from the league.

"You can sleep with [black people]. You can bring them in, you can do whatever you want. The little I ask you is not to promote it on that … and not to bring them to my games," Sterling said on the tape. "Don't put [Magic Johnson] on an Instagram for the world to have to see so [my friends] have to call me. And don't bring him to my games."
