Los Angeles Dodgers vs St Louis Cardinals takes place Friday night in Game 1 of their NL Championship Series as the MLB 2013 playoffs move just one step away from the World Series. The game will start at 8.37 p.m. ET and can be watched online through free live stream (details below).
Game 1 will see the Dodgers put pitcher Zack Greinke on the mound (15-4, 2.63 ERA) to face off against the Cardinals' Joe Kelly (10-5, 2.69 ERA).
The Dodgers will be hoping to get their noses in front early on in this series, and have both Greinke and Kershaw starting the first two games, having been able to give them full rests ahead of this series starting.
Combined, the pair pitched 19 innings and allowed three earned runs in the division series.
The Dodgers also have an offense that is coming into its own at the right time of the season, and they are batting .333 with a .962 on-base-plus-slugging percentage in the first round against the Atlanta Braves.
Meanwhile the Cardinals have a depth of pitching talent that they will hope can get them through the series and into the World Series. They also have a powerful offense featuring the likes of Carlos Beltran and Matt Adams.
The Cardinals will hope that they can maintain their efficient game play, and they have not given up many errors through the season. This is sure to be a tight series between two very strong teams and so things could come down to the marginal incidents such as errors, and if so the Cardinals will be confident of having what is needed to get over the line.
