Colter spoke to Vulture and revealed that fans will be learning more about his character and where he came from.

"It's not a total departure from where we were with the 'Jessica Jones' series, but it is more about him as a person. He's growing into himself and trying to figure out who he is as a superhero. Once he learns who he is, he will be able to use his powers and give back," said Colter.

Not much is revealed with how the series will play out but it's speculated that Luke's best friend from the comics, Iron Fist, will be making an appearance. Jessica Jones is also expected to appear as well.

"Luke Cage" is scheduled to premiere in 2016 on Netflix.
