MacBook Pro 2017 Refresh to Launch in October, Includes Kaby Lake Processor

Apple only released the MacBook Pro 2016 in October last year, but heads are now turning towards the 2017 version of the popular laptop. And if reports are to be believed, the MacBook Pro 2017 will hit the market in the fourth quarter of this year.

Release date rumors are still varying, but most reports agree that a Q4 debut is likely. This is because Apple only recently released the MacBook Pro 2016, and it would be counterintuitive to introduce another model in less than a year. As a result, it is widely believed that the MacBook Pro 2017 will see an unveiling no earlier than October of this year.

As for its specifications, the upcoming model is expected to have Intel's Kaby Lake processors under the hood. Many were surprised when Apple unveiled the MacBook Pro 2016 and only found the older Skylake processor onboard. This time, however, the Cupertino-based technology giant is believed to pull out all the stops for its chipset.

This prediction is supported by the recent discovery of three new profiles within the latest beta of the macOS. According to Pike's Universum, these three profiles contain certain capabilities that can only point to a Kaby Lake setup. This could mean that work on the MacBook Pro 2017 has already begun.

According to Ming-Chi Kuo, a KGI Securities analyst who has extensive knowledge about Apple, there are three MacBook Pro laptops coming this year. The first is a 12-inch, 16 GB RAM version that will likely begin production in March. The other two, a 13-inch and a 15-inch version, are predicted to be manufactured in July. In September, a top-tier version of the 15-inch MacBook Pro is expected with a whopping 32 GB of RAM.

However, since Apple has yet to confirm any of these, readers are advised to take this news with a grain of salt.
