MacOS 10.13 Update Release Date, Features and Rumors: New MacOS Announcement Expected This June at WWDC
Compared with other Apple product launches, the timeline when it comes to macOS updates is relatively orderly particularly when it comes to its annual release schedule. The new macOS 10.13 is expected to be on time as usual with the macOS updates, possibly launching with the upcoming Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) that will take place on June 5 to 9, in San Jose, California.
Apple has announced in February this year the dates for this year's WWDC, as mentioned in a comprehensive macOS 10.13 report by Macworld. The Apple news site expects the macOS 10.13 to be announced at the annual WWDC, just like the previous macOS and mac OS X versions before it. Speculatively expanding on that announcement, the news site expects invites to an initial public beta test to be sent out by July 2017, while the beta version for developers continue to get updated by Apple.
The month of September 2017 seems like a plausible date for the public unveiling of the final macOS 10.13. Regarding the macOS name, there are still no concrete details on that, and the only thing that fans can be confident about is that the new operating system (OS) will not be named after big cats. Instead, the new mac OS will probably continue the new tradition of getting named after a Califonia landmark, like the earlier Mavericks, Yosemite, El Capitan and Sierra.

Apple has also stopped referring to the OS as "OS X," dropping the old numerical system for macOS in line with the company's other software such as the iOS, tvOS and watchOS. According to a speculation roundup by Mac Rumors, the new OS update could build on newly introduced features as launched in the macOS Sierra. Features like Siri, Apple Pay, Universal Clipboard and integration with iOS and watchOS will probably be at the forefront of macOS development, in addition to a possible design update.
