Madeleine McCann Search Latest News: Does New Book Shed Light to Mystery?

A new book that revealed some truths on the mystery that surrounds Madeleine Beth McCann's, who was reported to have gone missing on the evening of May 2007 from her bed in a holiday apartment in a resort in Portugal.

Book author Anthony Summers said that a British mother answered her door to a bogus charity collector asking for donations to an orphanage. The incident took place in a villa near the apartment from where Madeleine disappeared.

"She soon realised he wasn't really looking at her, but was staring intently at her young daughter of three or four who was standing at her side, holding on to her skirt," the book claims.

"She later saw that man watching her place during the afternoon. The next day she went upstairs to fetch something for a moment and as she started to come downstairs she saw what she thinks was the same man in the room where her child was and as soon as she started to come into the room he scarpered," it continued.

The mother was convinced that the stranger really intended to abduct her daughter.

The book entitled "Looking for Madeleine" also revealed a case that took place three years earlier to that of Madeleine's where an intruder also got into a bed of a young girl in a nearby resort.

Further still, the book recounted that on the very day Madeleine disappeared, a woman saw from her balcony a certain person "behaving very oddly in the lane between the apartments and the pool."

"He seemed to be looking around and generally acting very peculiarly before leaving," the site added.

Summers then revealed in the book that former British consul Bill Henderson was quite aware of the series of "child sex assaults along the Algarve coast" but couldn't have told or warned the parents of the abducted about it.

The authors Anthony Summers and Robbyn Swan have been working close to the Madeleine case and have spent nearly two years studying police files and British documents.
