Major League Baseball Preview and Prediction: Toronto Blue Jays vs Texas Rangers

This is the first of three meetings in the series.

Starting a three-game series at home, the Texas Rangers host the Toronto Blue Jays at Global Life Park in Major League Baseball. The matchup is on May 13 at 8:05 p.m. ET.

Both teams are doing relatively well to start the season as they are either at the .500 mark or over ahead of their battles against each other.

The American League clubs have also had similar forms in their last 10 games as the Blue Jays are at 18-18 at the moment in the AL East and they are only behind the Baltimore Orioles and Boston Red Sox in the group.

They are on an impressive streak that sees them 6-4 in their last 10 games. However, more impressive is that they won their last series in dominating fashion as they prepare to go up against the Rangers.

Their last series was against the San Francisco Giants and they absolutely dominated in two out of three meetings. They won 3-1 in the first game before thrashing San Francisco 4-0 in the second.

In that game, Toronto won thanks to excellent play from Troy Tulowitzki. He hit a home run to start the scoring in the second inning, before hitting a sacrifice fly in the seventh to allow Michael Saunders to score. Later on in the ninth he hit a double that resulted in another score for the Blue Jays. He will be a pivotal player in this series so look out for him.

On the other hand, the Rangers are second in the West at 20-15 and are also 6-4 in their last 10 games. They are in a two-game winning streak and are hoping they can catch the Seattle Mariners who are at the top of the group. That win streak was against the Chicago White Sox as the Rangers outlasted their rivals for an 13-11 and 6-5 win.

In their last game, Texas showed great resolve as they fell behind twice in the game -- 4-2 at one point, but fought back with great plays by players like Prince Fielder and Tyler Saladino.
