Defender Ivan Ramis is doubtful after he was forced off against Reading on Saturday, but midfielder James McArthur and striker Franco di Santo look able to start after both coming off the bench and contributing to the win.

For Manchester City and boss Roberto Mancini the disappointment over the clubs early exit from the Champions League is still lingering, but a win would change to mood of unhappy fans.

If they are to earn a result on Tuesday, it will have to be without defender Gael Clichy, who remains out with injury. The Frenchman has missed the last two matches with an ankle problem.

City captain Vincent Kompany is expected to start, but midfielder Jack Rodwell, who is suffering from a hamstring injury, is not quite ready to return. Right-back Micah Richards will be out for this match.

City has beaten Wigan in their last five league meetings, both home and away and have conceded only five goals in all of their away matches, which is the fewest in the Premier League.

City still remains the only unbeaten team in the Premier League, but they have only scored seven goals away from the Etihad.

For Wigan, they have conceded 13 goals at home, which is the most in the league and could prove troublesome for the club in this match.
