Manchester United Transfer Rumors 2015: Pedro Rodriguez Nearing Move to Old Trafford

It appears that Manchester United are set to welcome Pedro Rodriguez to Old Trafford soon, as reports have revealed that the Spaniard will be unveiled in the middle of the coming week by the English Premier League club.

According to rumors, Pedro will still feature in the UEFA Super Cup match against Sevilla, but that will be his final appearance for the Catalans as his move to Old Trafford will be confirmed shortly after the game.

Spanish paper Mundo Deportivo claimed that the star has been given a deadline by Manchester United to complete the move as the English club are set to face Club Brugge in the UEFA Champions League on Aug. 18.

But there are also claims that the deal has already been completed and Pedro will definitely make his way over to England, as stated by Italian paper Gazzetta dello Sport.

Barcelona have made it clear that they still want to keep Pedro's services, with manager Luis Enrique hailing his player as one of the elite in the game and has won multiple honors with the club.

However, the delay of the move may have been connected with Barcelona star Neymar's sudden illness, as the Brazilian has contracted mumps that leaves him sidelined for at least two weeks.

With Barcelona lacking the scoring threat of Neymar, they are trying to maximize the use of Pedro while they have the opportunity so they would not miss out on Super Cups.

United's decision to go for Pedro clearly stems from them losing Angel Di Maria to Paris Saint-Germain during the summer. The Argentine moved to Paris after a failed season with the Red Devils. Pedro's arrival will help the squad, all while also giving the Spanish star the time on the pitch that he has longed for but could not do at Camp Nou.
