Manny Pacquiao News: Mayweather Sr. Would Put His Money On Terence Crawford to Beat 'Pacman'

Floyd Mayweather Sr. had something to say about the possible match-ups for eight-division world champion Manny Pacquiao.

"Pacman" is currently planning to hold his 66th and final professional fight in April 2016, as he hopes to pursue his aspirations to become a public servant.

He is currently serving as the Congressman for the Sarangani Province in the southern part of the country, and is running for a Senatorial seat at the 2016 Philippine elections in May.

A shortlist of Pacquiao's possible opponent has been released and it holds the names of his former sparring partner Amir Khan and undefeated WBO world titleholder Terence Crawford.

Recently, Floyd Mayweather Sr. was asked about the given situation of his son's former long-time on paper rival. According to the elder Mayweather, Crawford actually has a shot at Pacquiao. With Khan, however, he was a bit skeptical.

"I think Crawford can beat Pacquiao," Mayweather Sr. told On The Ropes Boxing. "Amir Khan's got a glass jaw, if you look at him too long, he's gonna fall down."

Pacquiao and Khan have worked together in the past under Freddie Roach at the Wild Card Gym. Floyd Sr. believes that once Pacquiao catches Khan with a clean shot, the fight would be over.

"We'll see, but if Pacquiao hits Amir Khan good, Amir Khan's gone," he adds.

Interestingly, current WBO welterweight champion Timothy Bradley also agrees with Mayweather Sr.'s assessment. "Desert Storm" had the opportunity to face Pacquiao twice, wherein he won the first encounter, and lost the second one.

Reports have claimed that Bradley was added to the list of opponents. For his part, he believes that Crawford can very well win in the said match-up.

He is, however, hopeful that the shot at Pacquiao would be given to him.

"Terence Crawford is a good friend of mine, and I would like to see him get that shot," Bradley said in an interview with Boxingscene. "But of course, I would like to fight Pacquiao in a rubber match."
