A group of Marines stationed in Afghanistan have added themselves to a long list of those who have covered Carly Rae Jepsen's famous song "Call Me Maybe."
The Marines filmed an entire dance routine to the catchy song, and while dressed in full military gear, the soldiers lip-synced the famous lyrics: "Hey, I just met you, and this is crazy, but here's my number, so call me maybe."
At the end of the full music video, the soldiers shout the motivational cry distinct to the Marines, "Hoo-rah."
Director of the video Eric Raum explained that he had heard "Call Me Maybe" during his trip back to the U.S. after his tour, according to his website.
"I had just returned to Kandahar from the U.S. and had been taken aback by how big of a hit it was, we often miss out on the latest and greatest while in the 'Stan," Raum wrote on his blog.
The solider heard that "people were creating covers of the song" and decided "that it would be a lot of fun for the guys and gals out here is we could create a military version."
With over 100,000 views, "Call Me Maybe: Military Version" has made waves on the internet and resonates with many soldiers and their families.
