Mark Ballas Seriously Injured; Candace Cameron Bure To Miss Finals?

Credit :

Mark Ballas may not be able to participate in the "Dancing with the Stars" finale, therefore possibly eliminating him and partner Candace Cameron Bure from the championship competition on Monday, May 19.

Bure and her professional dancing partner are among the most popular contestants of season 18. However, Ballas' injury could take them out of the running for the Mirrorball trophy this week. A rep for "DWTS" confirmed that the pro dancer was badly hurt during rehearsals one day before the finals on Monday.

"His shoulder popped out during a lift and he was taken by ambulance to the hospital," the spokesperson said on Sunday, May 18, according to Us magazine. "He was treated and released but, it remains unclear whether he'll be able to perform on Monday's show."

At the time of the injury, fellow "DWTS" pro dancers Derek Hough and Cheryl Burke reportedly rushed to Ballas' side. Despite the injury, Ballas updated fans saying he was doing well on Sunday via Twitter.

"Hey y'all. I'm doing alright, thanks for the love," he wrote.

This is not the first time Ballas has been injured ahead of the highly anticipated finals on "DWTS." In 2007 during season five, the dancer dislocated his left shoulder while paired with actress Sabrina Bryan. Moreover, Ballas' injury is not the first on this season of "DWTS." Ahead of her elimination last week, Danica McKellar had broken a rib, while Amy Purdy suffered a rib out of place as well as muscle spasms.

Meanwhile, "DWTS" airs on ABC Monday at 8 p.m. EST. All four remaining couples (Amy Purdy and Derek Hough; James Maslow and Peta Murgatroyd; Maks Chmerkovskiy and Meryl Davis; Ballas and Bure) will hopefully return to the dance floor where a winner will be named by the show's end.
