Matt Lauer Screamed at on Streets of NY, Blamed for Ann Curry Exit (VIDEO)

Matt Lauer is being screamed at as he walks about the streets of New York City, the NBC presenter has revealed, as people are accusing him of being the reason Ann Curry was fired from The Today Show.

Lauer is said to be "miserable," network sources have said, according to celebrity news website TMZ. He believes people are unfairly blaming him as they go about their hateful rants at him as he simply goes about his day in Manhattan.

He has reportedly said that people have shouted at him things like, "You're a bad guy," and, "You got Ann Curry fired. Does that make you happy?"

However, Lauer has insisted that Ann Curry's firing from her position on The Today Show had nothing to do with him and that it was not his fault. However, the continued abuse, even months after the incident took place, is said to be getting the presenter down.

He has even said that people are also highlighting his reported $25 million salary as another reason to verbally attack him.

Just last month rumors had begun circulating that Lauer could also be fired from NBC and be replaced by "Morning Joe" anchor Willie Geist. However, since those rumors emerged the network has denied any such move was about to take place.

One source close to the network has said to Fox News: "[Lauer] has a lot of pull in terms of who comes in and who doesn't, and there is just no way they would get rid of him."

Alexandra Wallace, as executive for the Today Show has also denied the rumors, saying to the New York Post last month, "There is absolutely no truth to this. There have been some recent outrageous claims regarding Matt and the 'Today' show, and an awful lot of piling on from nameless, faceless sources. These stories are wrong and irresponsible."
