Meet the New Legendary Pokemon Magiana

The Pokemon Company has introduced a new Legendary Pokemon called Magiana. The Pokemon was revealed through the latest issue of Japanese monthly magazine CoroCoro.

Pokemon-centric site Serebii spotted the new Pokemon being featured on the cover of CoroCoro magazine. Magiana is described as a Man-Made Pokemon that has a metallic body. It was "made by human hands" more than 500 years ago. Fans are assuming based on the image above that the Legendary Pokemon is of a steel type, but no official information confirms this as of the moment. Magiana could also possibly have a secondary type as is the trend in recent Legendary Pokemons.

Apparently, fans will be able to see Magiana on the big screen. The Pokemon will star in the upcoming new movie titled "Volcanion and the Ingenious Magiana" or "Volcanion and the Exquisite Magiana," according to different translations. The plot of the movie revolves around the fire and water type Pokemon Volcanion going after the new Legendary Pokemon, in order to learn its secret, whatever that may be, and save it from those who would use it for their own evil and selfish purposes, according to the film's summary, as translated by Serebii.

Here's the full summary:

"As Ash and his friends continue their journey, Volcanion drops down from the sky in front of them. Volcanion's object is to recover Magiana, who has been abducted by the 'Azoth Kingdom,' a city of super-machinery. However, Volcanion and Ash have become linked together by a strange chain. Will the two of them manage to work together and save Magiana?"

So far, there is no information on whether Magiana will also be part of any Pokemon games, such as the rumored "Pokemon Z."

In any case, 2016 is definitely a big year for Pokemon as the franchise is celebrating its 20th anniversary in a couple of weeks' time. Part of the activities lined up for the grand celebration are Mythical Pokemon monthly giveaways. Mythical Pokemons are different from Legendary Pokemons in the sense that while it is possible to capture the latter in the game, players can only get the former in special Pokemon events.
