Mexico got off to a terrible start to their Gold Cup 2013 campaign with a loss against Panama, however, they were able to get themselves back on track with a good win against Canada in their second game.

Martinique meanwhile have lost to Panama but beaten Canada to put them equal with Mexico on three points from two games. That means the winner tonight will take second spot in the group and progress to the knock out stages.

A draw would likely see both teams progress with one going through as group runners up and the other likely to go through as one of the two third place qualification spots having gained four points.

However, both teams will believe they can win today. Mexico have the talent, skills and players to win today, but they have been extremely inconsistent in their form over the past 12 months and that will give Martinique some encouragement and belief that they can pull off an upset.

Martinique outplayed Canada throughout their first match, but they needed to wait until a spectacular volley in stoppage time to clinch the win. That lack of firepower could worry them coming into this game against Mexico, with the Mexicans having a much better team than Canada.
