The Miami Dolphins will play the New York Jets on Sunday in Week 13 of the NFL 2013 regular season with the teams fighting it out today to claim sole possession of second place in the AFC East. Today's game will start at 1 p.m. ET and can be watched online through free live stream (details below).
The Jets and the Dolphins are tied on 5-6 coming into this game, and neither has been able to keep pace with the division toppers, the New England Patriots, who last week were able to take down the Denver Broncos.
Both of these two teams have struggled in recent weeks, and that stuttering form has seen them fall away from any chance of taking the division title; something both would still have hoped for at mid-way through the season.
The Dolphins are on an incredibly inconsistent run, having won then lost then won then lost over their past four games.
They put up a good fight against the surging Carolina Panthers last week, but ultimately came up short, losing 16-20 at home. The week before they won by the same score line against the San Diego Chargers.
The loss against the Panthers will have been tough to take seeing as they were up by 13 points at one point. However, the Panthers showed their character by overturning that deficit to claim their seventh straight win – their longest winning streak since 2003.
Meanwhile, the Jets have lost three of their last four games, and their offense was completely shut down by Baltimore last week in a 3-19 loss. The week before that they were only able to post 14 points on the board against Buffalo – a game in which they badly lost 14-37. In Week 8 they were also only able to score 9 points against Cincinnati in a 9-49 defeat.
Their offense has been absence too many times this season for them to have a realistic chance of making the postseason, however, they will believe things are still possible if they can win out from here.
