Michael Jackson Fans Sue Dr. Conrad Murray

Michael Jackson fans in France have gone to court with plans to sue controversial doctor Conrad Murray for “emotional distress.”

"It's similar to losing a childhood friend in a traffic accident," says lawyer Emmanuel Ludot, who is representing about 100 grieving fans against doctor Conrad Murray, according to AFP.

"Because this death affects you, you have the possibility to file a suit and seek compensation,” he added.

The “emotional damage” lawsuit will be filed by each fan, with each one of them potentially being able to win $13,000 from the doctor. However, the fans claim they are not seeking money and are seeking only a symbolic amount in damages equivalent to one euro.

Dr. Conrad Murray was found guilty of the involuntary manslaughter of Michael Jackson in November.

The case is set to go before an Orleans court on April 11.
