Michael Schumacher's Norwegian Ski Holiday Property Sold

Michael Schumacher's family has sold their holiday property in Norway for £2 million while he continues to recover in his Swiss lakeside home. The sale follows months after his wife Corinna sold his private jet for 25 million pounds, which as reported, were intended for the renovation of some parts of his Swiss home into a medical facility.

The 6,940 sq. ft. lodge located in Trysil, north of Oslo, was owned by the 46-year-old racer since 1990s, where it was used as a base for a number of their skiing excursions.

A report from Express U.K. indicated that the property features a spa, a gym, and other luxurious amenities like whirlpool baths. The house is also said to feature a fully-equipped kitchen and a garage space which can hold up to seven cars.

German newspaper Bild said that it was sold to a foreign buyer for a price of 22 million Norwegian kroner.

Petter Birkrem, a real estate agent, told the local newspaper that the house was also Schumi's "refuge from the media pursuit he has suffered throughout his life." He said that the buyer, who was found out to be not of a Norwegian nationality, was utterly glad to have procured the property.

"We had a viewing for this person and his family at the very start of winter. They got a real 'wow' feeling when they came into the cabin," he said (via Daily Mail UK).

Media reporters who were opting to view the interior of the retreat house were asked to get rid of their cameras as well as mobile phones.

Schumacher's life went into spiral when on December 2013, he met an accident during a skiing trip with friends and family in Meribel, France.

Shortly after the incident, the seven-time champion was taken to a French hospital nearby and was then flown 80 miles west to CHU Grenoble medical facility. There he was placed in an induced coma following a head operation.

On January, he was announced conscious but was still in an immobile state. Since September of last year, Schumi's condition is being monitored by a team of medical experts at his home in Gland, Switzerland.
