Microsoft Lumia 940 XL Revealed as Windows 10 Handset Appears in Benchmark

There isn't anything interesting going with Microsoft's own mobile lineup aside from the fact that most of its phones will be able to run on Windows 10. In addition, there will be a number of handsets that will run on the latest multi-platform operating system from the get-go.

One of these smartphones will be the Lumia 940 XL, which is slated as a successor to the Nokia Lumia 930 which was announced last year before the Nokia-Microsoft merger.

In a new report by GSM Arena, the Microsoft Lumia 940 XL allegedly appeared, showing its specs in a benchmarking app. In the report, a German website got a hold of the new device's features, showing that it would be a powerful device that can go up against the top-tier smartphones in the market.

Based on the leaked specs sheet, the Lumia 940 XL will pack a massive 5.7-inch display with a QHD or 2K (2560 x 1440) resolution, a 64-bit Snapdragon 810 chipset from Qualcomm, Adreno 430 GPU, Direct X11, and Windows Phone OS (probably a test version).

Some specs that appear to be undervalued include a 17MP (20MP) primary camera that can shoot UHD (3840 x 2160) resolution clips, a 4.8MP (5MP) front shooter that records FHD (1920 x 1080) videos, 1.5GB (2GB) of RAM, and 14GB (16GB) of internal storage.

Based on some details about Windows 10, the Lumia 940 XL could boast a USB Type-C port, an iris scanner, and a 3,300mAh battery.
