Microsoft Surface Pro 4 to Be Released in October

The next generation tablet of Microsoft, the Microsoft Surface Pro 4, may possibly come out within the year, in October to be specific. The report also cited that the tablet will likely run on the new Windows 10 operating system.

The Microsoft Surface Pro 4 is also rumored to have better technical specifications than its predecessor, the Surface Pro 3. However, it is also said that it may not carry any major design changes compared to the Surface Pro 3. The company supposedly focused on improving the tablet's performance rather than its looks.

The Microsoft Surface Pro 3 was unveiled in May 2014 and became available a month after. Since then, Microsoft has not made any official announcements yet about the tablet's successor.

DigiTimes which cited insider sources privy to the company's supply chain. These sources claimed that components of the new tablet are scheduled for shipping from September and that the table will be ready for sale a month after.

The new tablet, as mentioned, will not be receiving "any external design tweaks." It will have the same bezel size and a 12-inch screen. With rumors that Apple is developing a bigger screen iPad called iPad Pro, which may have a 12.9-inch screen, some quarters are hoping that the new Microsoft tablet will also come with a slightly bigger screen.

Internally, it is rumored to have the latest Intel processor, the Skylake under the hood with a whopping 16 GB of RAM. In terms of internal storage, it will likely come in 64GB, 128GB, 256GB and 500GB, and possibly a 1TB option. The Surface Pro 4 will have a screen resolution of 2,160 by 1,440 pixels, same as its predecessor. It is estimated to cost around the same as the Surface Pro 3, about $799.

These reports about the tablet's specs, release date and price remain unconfirmed by Microsoft, however.
