Hemsworth, 23, arrived at the famed Chateau Marmont hotel for a Hollywood pre-Oscars party on Saturday without Cyrus, 20. Jones, 35, also attended the event and unlikely pair was reportedly caught in an intimate embrace.
"It looked like they had some hot chemistry," one onlooker told Star magazine. "They were all over each other and they even kissed!"
The "Hunger Games" star has been engaged to Cyrus for eight months, so naturally fellow guests were allegedly stunned to see him openly chatting with Jones. The pair was then photographed leaving the event in the same vehicle and the photos have since gone viral, raising questions about his engagement.
Cyrus recently found herself mired in her own cheating scandal after being photographed with "Gossip Girl" actor Ed Westwick in West Hollywood. She eventually denied that they are more than friends.
"I was at the studio last night working on my record and never left with anyone other than my assistant," Cyrus said in response to claims made by celebrity blogger Perez Hilton.
In a recent interview, Cyrus opened up about her relationship with Hemsworth, revealing that the Australian actor is a huge priority in her life.
"Number one is my relationship with Liam," Cyrus told Cosmopolitan while contrasting their relationship with the the highs and lows of a music career. "That's what I feel the most confident in because you never know; there's so much hype behind my new record, but it could come out and, worst-case scenario, everyone f------ hates it."
Cyrus is said to be anxious about marrying Hemsworth, although the couple is yet to set a date. The former Disney star recently clarified rumors that she is having more than one wedding.
"There's some rumor going around that I'm having 47 weddings, I'm not. I'm having one wedding, that's my day, and whatever I want on that day it'll be about me and that moment, that look of love," Cyrus told talk show host Ellen DeGeneres.
"That moment of when he first gets to see me in my dress, and everything all together - it has to be perfect, it has to be like the soundtrack in like a movie," she added.
