Miley Cyrus recently spoke out about her controversial engagement to Liam Hemsworth, insisting that contrary to reports the couple is still engaged.
In February Hemsworth, 23, was embroiled in a cheating scandal with actress January Jones, 35, after the pair was reportedly caught in an intimate embrace. Cyrus' decision to briefly stop wearing her engagement ring sparked split rumors however she insists that she and the Australian actor remain "committed."
"We have a house together and dogs. It just seems right to be wearing this ring and to be committed," Cyrus - who began wearing her ring again in recent weeks – told Elle UK. "But we keep our relationship low-key and don't talk about it any more."
The former Disney star was bombarded with questions, particularly on social networking site Twitter after photos of Hemsworth and Jones surfaced online in March. The singer, evidently agitated by the cheating speculation, abruptly announced that she would no longer share her personal life with the public.
"We were too nice to the world and gave them too much insight – into my life and my puppies and my house – and I just don't feel they get that privilege any more," Cyrus said.
"Like on my Twitter, I'm much more... not conservative, but you don't see a picture of my dogs. You don't get that personal stuff any more," she continued.
Cyrus began dating Hemsworth in 2010 after meeting on the set of "The Last Song." In May the singer and the "Hunger Games" star announced their engagement however reports claim that he recently postponed what was scheduled to be a Summer wedding.
"They've both been getting pressured by their management teams to hold off on the wedding, but it was Liam that gave in first and admitted that they should wait," a source close to the couple told HollywoodLife.com.
"He didn't call it off or anything, he just wanted to take some more time but I guess some people might call that cold feet. He's trying to do the mature thing, but Miley didn't take it well, she's been very upset and angry with him ever since which has only made them fight more," the source explained.
Hemsworth and Jones are yet to publicly address reports of an affair.
