Miley Cyrus Refused to Mock Liam Hemsworth During 'SNL' Gig? 'Wouldn't Be Classy'

Miley Cyrus reportedly decided against mocking her ex-fiance Liam Hemsworth during her recent "Saturday Night Live" hosting gig, as the singer ultimately wanted to take the high road.

On Oct. 5 Cyrus, 20, hosted the gig and also performed on the late-night comedy show after having mocked her own personal life in a series of sketches. The controversial "Wrecking Ball" singer made fun of her infamous MTV VMAs performance among other hot topics, but much to the surprise of various critics, Hemsworth, 23, was never mentioned.

"She thought it wouldn't be classy at the end of the day to talk about Liam and left him out it," a source told HollywoodLife.com.

The exes split in September due to strain stemming from a number of issues, allegedly including Cyrus' VMAs disaster. The former Disney star reportedly made a last minute decision to ditch her jokes about Hemsworth, according to the source.

"Her monologue was originally longer but as we all saw they shortened it immensely. It was going to have all those jokes," the singer explained.

In addition to mocking her own VMAs performance, Cyrus ridiculed the government shutdown while taking on the role of Michele Bachmann. The singer spoofed her "We Can't Stop" video with "We Did Stop," which left her fans in fits of laughter.

The pop star also touched on "Hannah Montana" by revealing that the Disney character had "been murdered."

"I'm not going to do Hannah Montana, but I can give you an update on what she's been up to — she's been murdered," Cyrus said during one sketch.

In recent months the singer made headlines for introducing the twerking craze to mainstream pop and at one point she made fun of the suggestive dance routine.

"There will be no twerking tonight. I used to think twerking was cool, but now that white people do it, it's lame," she joked.
