Minecraft on Xbox 360, Xbox One 'The Simpsons' DLC Skin Pack News

Minecraft for Xbox 360 and Xbox One is getting another DLC skin pack; this time based from a popular TV show and is scheduled to roll out next month.

A report from Gamespot.com cited Microsoft and 20th Century Fox's announcement on Thursday that fan-favorite characters from the highly-acclaimed adult cartoon series "The Simpsons" are coming to Minecraft.

"We have an active community of more than 17 million die-hard Minecrafters on Xbox Live enjoying the wide range of downloadable content on Xbox, and they have been clamoring for us to bring Simpsons characters to the game," said Phil Spencer, Head of Xbox, said in a statement.

The DLC skin pack will arrive first for Microsoft's previous- and current-gen game consoles in late February.

The $2 USD downloadable pack will feature the faces of famous characters like Homer, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie.

The site also stated that a total of 19 additional characters from Springfield Elementary School are also slated to arrive in the game. Best speculations of who these characters are would include the names Nelson, Milhouse, and Ralph.

More information on the Minecraft with "The Simpsons" DLC Skin pack for other platforms will come at a later date.

Mojang's "Minecraft" is reported to have recently broke twelve world records including Best-Selling Indie Game, Largest Indie Game Convention, Most Popular Game Beta, Most-Viewed Fan Film Based on a Video Game, Most-Played Xbox Live Game, and more others (per IGN).

IGN went on to say that the sandbox title is also currently working with Telltale Games to deliver a Story Mode set in Minecraft universe.
