Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez Faces Steve Harvey In One-On-One Interview

It's already been a month since the infamous Miss Universe 2015 pageant crowned Miss Philippines Pia Wurtzbach as the winner. But everyone knows that it was no ordinary crowning moment as the host that night, Steve Harvey, made a huge mistake. Instead of declaring Miss Philippines as the winner, he mistakenly called Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez. Since then, it has been a rollercoaster ride for the involved parties.

But for the first time since that night, Gutierrez finally sat down in a one-on-one interview with Harvey in his show "Steve Harvey." In the video posted by Entertainment Weekly, the interview kicked off with a short video introduction of who Miss Colombia was and a little bit of the erroneous crowning moment. When Gutierrez was called in to the set by Harvey, the two shared a warm and sincere hug, indicating that the beauty queen has held no grudge against the comedian.

And before they went any further, an emotional Harvey faced Gutierrez with teary eyes while saying how sorry he was for his mistake.

"You're the one person that I really wanted to talk to. Because of a mistake I made, I cast you into a spotlight, a place that I never intended to, that I would not want to happen to anybody. I just want to say how sorry I am," said Harvey.

Fortune detailed that Gutierrez has long forgiven Harvey, saying that what happened to her that night was her destiny. She also clarified the lawsuit rumors saying that she will not sue Harvey even though her lawyers had suggested to her to do so. She said that filing a lawsuit is not who she is.

The interview in general was light and candid. They even joked around and made the audience laugh. At one point, Gutierrez gave Harvey a piece of advice that had the audience bursting into laughter. "You need to learn how to read cards," she joked.
