Mitch Lucker Dead: Suicide Silence Singer Killed in Motorcyle Accident

Mitch Lucker of the heavy metal band Suicide Silence died Thursday morning following a motorcycle accident on Halloween.

The remaining band members announced his death via Facebook.

"There's no easy way to say this," posted Suicide Silence. "Mitch passed away earlier this morning from injuries sustained during a motorcycle accident. This is completely devastating to all of us and we offer our deepest condolences to his family. He will be forever in our hearts. R.I.P. Mitchell Adam Lucker- We Love You Brother."

The 28-year-old vocalist lost control of his motorcycle in Huntington Beach, Calif. on Wednesday night when he crashed into a light pole, according to the Newport Beach Patch.

Fortunately, no one else was injured during the accident, but police are wondering if alcohol played a role, according to The Riverside Press-Enterprise.

Lucker served as lead vocalist for the extreme metal band which has released three full-length studio albums.

Suicide Silence invited fans to attend a candlelight vigil for Lucker in Huntington Beach on Thursday night.

Twitter users were mourning the vocalist on Friday, posting messages commemorating his work.

"RIP Mitch Lucker from Suicide Silence," wrote Band Says. "Such an inspiration to everyone. An amazing frontman and amazing father."

Andie posted, "It's always sad to see talent leave us too early, but it's even more heartbreaking when a daughter loses her father. RIP Mitch Lucker."

"A good man is dead," wrote Ian. "You will be missed, Mitch Lucker. Moving forward."

Taylor added, "I'm not a fan of death metal but I'm so upset that Mitch Lucker died. R.I.P. Mitch thoughts and prayers to the rest of the band."

Lucker leaves behind is wife Jolie and a 5-year-old daughter, Kenadee.

Suicide Silence includes bass player Dan Kenny, guitarists Chris Garza, Mark Heylmun, and drummer Alex Lopez.
