Mobile Theater Touring US to Sign Up Hosts for Harvest America With Greg Laurie

In an effort to sign up even more than the 2,400 churches and other venues that hosted an Internet streaming or satellite broadcast of the first Harvest America with Greg Laurie last year, a mobile theater inside a huge truck trailer is touring the U.S., showing video that describes this year's event planned for Philadelphia.

Harvest Ministries associate pastor and senior event director Michael Brazeal recently gave The Christian Post a tour of the Harvest America Mobile Theater while it was parked at the Southern Baptist Convention in Houston earlier this month.

"This mobile theater is a way for us to message what we are doing [for] any pastors in any church, in any city, and in any state," said Brazeal of the 27-seat theater with a small lobby inside.

The mobile theater was scheduled to be at Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville on Friday and two stops in Oklahoma this Monday. This year's Harvest America will be at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia on Sept. 28-29 at 7:00 p.m. (Eastern Time). The event will be simulcast to thousands of host locations across the country with music from top Christian artists including MercyMe, Jeremy Camp, Kirk Franklin, NEEDTOBREATHE, and Lecrae.

Brazeal described Harvest America as an opportunity to expand on the successful Harvest Crusade events held in outdoor stadiums primarily in Southern California. For 23 years, Harvest Crusades has been invited to cities all over the world to share the Good News of Jesus Christ, and has seen more than 391,000 people register decisions of faith in Him, organizers said.

"Building on that foundation, Harvest America has amplified the message to be heard all over the nation," Harvest Ministry officials stated. "More than just a webcast, Harvest America is hundreds of churches banding together to proclaim the gospel live, simultaneously, in host locations nationwide.

"Through HD-quality video available through Internet streaming and satellite, the gospel message, clearly communicated by evangelist Greg Laurie, is transmitted from an arena in Philadelphia to listening hearts in hundreds of host sites across the United States — sites that include churches, gymnasiums, theaters, businesses, and living rooms."

Harvest executive director, Pastor John Collins, said that Harvest America is meant to be "a platform for every Christian willing to heed our Lord's great command."

"Already hundreds of churches have signed on and many individuals are opening their homes to reach their neighbors and friends," wrote Collins in the Harvest America blog. "To date, the number of community events, where multiple churches will work hand in hand to reach their area for Christ, has doubled! In this we rejoice. But the work is only beginning.

"Please keep praying and help us in getting the word out. Utilize all the social media you can to let your friends and loved ones know that 'hope is on the way.'"
