Modern Family New Season: Hour Long Premiere Tonight

ABC’s five-time Emmy Award winning series “Modern Family” premieres tonight on prime time television.

Winner of Outstanding Comedy Series, the show was created by Lloyd and Steven Levitan in accordance with their real lives.

“Modern Family” follows a large family that lives in a suburban community of Los Angeles, California. Sophia Vergara plays the second wife of Ed O’Neill, and the couple raises her son, played by Rico Rodriguez.

Emmy Award winners for their roles, Julie Bowen and Ty Burrell play a married couple on the show, and have three children. Bowen’s character, Claire, is O’Neill’s onscreen daughter.

The family also includes Jesse Tyler Ferguson, O’Neill’s on-screen son, and Eric Stonestreet, a homosexual couple that has just adopted a baby.

Directed by another Emmy Award winner, Michael Spiller, the series has received overwhelmingly positive reviews. This year, the show was the 16th highest revenue earning, and the premiere of its last season coveted 12.6 million viewers.

The first episode in the hour-long special premiere, “Dude Ranch,” will feature the entire family’s vacation to Jackson Hole, Wyoming. They family will experiment with cattle herding, horseback riding, and skeet shooting, and will air at 9 p.m. EST.

Airing at 9:30 p.m. EST, the second episode, entitled “When Good Kids Go Bad,” will chronicle the family’s decision to adopt another child.

Twitter users have expressed their excitement about the premiere, such as Mommyskitchen writing, “My favorite family is on tonight!!!”

“Beyond excited,” wrote Olivia.

“The fact that modern family is coming on tonight is the redeeming factor for this day,” wrote Karly.

Winnie wrote, “I love Modern Family with all my heart and soul. I have re-watched the 2 seasons 5x and I’m still loving it! Not sick of it at all!”

“Modern Family is by far one the funniest shoes on television,” affirmed Jenna.

New episodes of “Modern Family” will air Mondays on ABC at 9 p.m. EST.
