'Modern Family' Season 6 Spoilers, News: Episode Recap 'Twisted Sister'
"Modern Family" aired its Valentine's Day episode last Wednesday, and the Pritchetts and the Dunphys served up a lot of laughs as Cam and Mitchell plot to take back a present, Claire and Phil take on their alter egos Julianna and Clive, and Gloria's sister ends up hitting on Jay.
Every Valentine's Day, Claire and Phil break out their alter egos, "Clive" and "Julianna" to spice things up in their marriage a little. However, this year, Claire wants to be just Claire, so Phil drops his alter ego and meets her as himself. However, it turns out that Claire only wanted to take a breather from Julianna, so Phil ends up meeting "Julianna". Later, Claire is worried that Phil favors "Julianna" than the real her, so she brings up gross things and insults Phil's favorite movie. But Phil, once he cottoned on what was worrying Claire, sweeps his wife off her feet by saying goodbye to Julianna.
"I'm gonna miss that Julianna," he muses. "That woman knows where the bodies are buried."

Meanwhile, Mitchell and Cam attend a Valentine's Day/anniversary party for their friends Anders and Cooper. They bring a gift, however, both of them want to keep it for themselves. Once they arrive, they learn that Anders and Cooper broke up, and Mitch and Cam decide that this is the perfect time to take the gift back.
At the Pritchett's, Gloria's sister, Sonia, drops by for a visit. Gloria suggests that Jay should cancel their plans for Valentine's Day so that the three of them can have dinner together. Jay isn't very happy with this. Later, he tries to give Sonia a gift that was meant for Stella, his dog, so she wouldn't feel left out. Sonia misconstrues this and ends up hitting on Jay. Unfortunately, she was sitting on the baby monitor and Gloria hears every word.
Gloria confronts her sister and tells her, "How dare you try to steal the life I stole from you!" while Jay looks on gleefully, happy that he's getting some attention at last.
"Modern Family" airs on Wednesdays at 9 p.m. on ABC.
