'Mortal Kombat X' DLC Release Date News: Creator Teases New DLC Pack Coming Soon

Great news for all the fans out there who are waiting for a "Mortal Kombat X" DLC. Ed Boon, the co-creator of the fighting video game, recently announced that there will be a release update on the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game. He has not revealed the precise detail as to when but he did mention that it will be "coming soon."

The hype all started when Boon teased a ton of DLCs on his Twitter account. He posted a black and white photo of the "Mortal Kombat X" characters namely Tremor, Tanya, Predator and Jason Voorhees. The caption of his post was with a winking emoticon, further teasing excited fans.

It has also been rumored that the DLC may include new characters for players to enjoy. One of the rumored characters is the Image Comic's antihero, Spawn. According to CrossMap, the claim for Spawn appearing in the next update is not baseless. It was said that NetherRealm Studios acquired permission from Tom McFarlane of Image Comics to include Spawn in "Mortal Kombat X DLC." And so far, the character has not been seen in any of the games and in expansions.

Youth Health also noted that since the previous DLC released was named "Kombat Pack 1," developer of the game NetherRealm may call the upcoming DLC as the "Kombat Pack 2," although, the company has not announced the release date for the downloadable content.

While waiting for further announcements, fans can temporarily entertain themselves with the video posted in YouTube by user Dynasty. The video revealed the unmasked face of some of the "Mortal Kombat X" characters both playable and unplayable. Included in the list of playable characters with unmasked face are Ferra Torr, Erron Black, Jason Voorhees and Revenant Sub-Zero. Unmasked faces of unplayable characters include Rain and Smoke, which fans hops to see in the upcoming rumored DLC.
