Motorola Droid Turbo Release Date, Specs News: Motorola's Best Phone to Date Hitting India Soon

Last year, Motorola made some big surprises to keep the competition in the Android realm interesting.

Not only was the phone maker chosen to develop Google's latest phone, the Nexus 6, it also released arguably the best smartphone last year.

When the Motorola Droid Turbo began hitting the rumor mill late last year, no one thought it would be a high-end device. However, the actual announcement of the device captured U.S. interest, especially because its features were rumored to be on par or even superior to Samsung's Galaxy Note 4.

Unfortunately, there was one major problem in that it was developed solely for Verizon Wireless.

But in a recent report by Phone Arena, the device will soon be hitting its first Asian market: India. the Android-powered smartphone appeared in a listing for India's biggest retailer website, Flipkart.

Listed as the Moto Maxx, the device features a 5.2-inch display with QHD or 2K (2560 x 1440) resolution, 3GB of RAM, and a Snapdragon 805 chipset from Qualcomm.

Other specs include a 21MP Sony-made camera with an aperture of f/2.0, and there is a 2MP front shooter to handle selfies and video calls.

Powering up the device is a 3,900mAh battery, as well as Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box.

While the Moto Maxx would not be as cheap as some of the more popular handsets in India such as the OnePlus One ($306) and the Xiaomi Mi4 ($322) in the same website, the Motorola smartphone does have additional features and higher-end specs to offer.
