Natalie Dormer from "Game of Thrones" shocked fans by attending the SAG Awards with a shaved head on Sunday.

The British actress graced the red carpet in a black-and-white Marios Schwab gown, but it was her unique and startling hairstyle that wowed her fans. While most of Dormer's long light brown hair was intact, the actress shaved half of her head, leaving behind only short-cropped fuzz.

Furthermore, the starlet swept the remaining hair to the side with some of the strands intricately braided.

The actress added an even edgier accent to her look by lining her exposed ear with a metal earring.

As it turns out, Dormer's hairstyle was the result of her role in "The Hunger Games."

"The hair department was very supportive," she explained, according to USA Today. "I was ready to do the whole head but we decided it was more stylistic- more Capitol, just to do half the head."

The 31-year-old actress is best known for her role as Margaery Tyrell in HBO's hit fantasy series "Game of Thrones" as well as her role in the "Tudors" television series.

Fortunately, Dormer's haircut will not affect her character on "GOT," the star wears a wig for her role on the show.

Celebrities who have shaved their heads in the past include Britney Spears, Amanda Bynes, Rihanna, and Avril Lavigne, among others.

Meanwhile, Dormer's career has since blossomed into films that include "A Long Way From Home," "The Counselor," and "The Hunger Games" sequels, "Mockingjay," where she portrays Cressida.

While attending the Screen Actors Guild Awards, Dormer joined some of today's top actresses such as Jennifer Lawrence, Amy Adams, and Sofia Vergara, among many others.

The awards show recognized the best in film this year, including "American Hustle," which earned the Outstanding Cast in a Motion Picture award, which is the SAG equivalent of best picture.
