NBA Free Agency 2016-2017: 10 Best Players in the Market

Kevin Durant Leads all NBA Free Agents in 2016

This year's NBA free agency will be wild. So many big names and teams have a lot of money. In fact, almost every team in the league can afford at least one max deal. Indeed, anything can happen come July 1. Here's a list of the ten best free agents in the NBA.

1. Kevin Durant

Durant will be the face of any franchise he lands into. That's how good he is. His offensive skills are unstoppable. When engaged, he can be an absolute beast in the defensive end as well. He works within the team concept, willing to be the go-to-guy and underrated as a passer. He is a real team leader who has all the skills and qualities you need in your best player.'

2. LeBron James

There were rumors that LeBron James might leave Cleveland because he has already fulfilled his promise and he wants to play alongside his brothers Chris Paul and Carmelo Anthony. But James will most likely stay. In an interview, LeBron said "I love it here. I love being here. I love my teammates. Obviously my agents will take care of all the logistical things, but, I'm happy."

3. Andre Drummond

Drummond is an excellent at pick-and-roll plays. For that reason alone, Pistons is most likely to re-sign him. He needs to work on some of his weaknesses, including his free throw shooting, his passing, and improve his post-up plays.

4. Mike Conley

One of the best defensive point guards in NBA today. He makes smart passes, shoots great beyond the arc with a quick release, and can finish well at the rim. He is most likely to re-sign with Memphis but he is a primary target for the Rockets, Mavericks, Bucks, and Spurs.

5. Al Horford

An efficient player with no go-to moves, Horford isn't dominant in any category, but he is a versatile player who can defend guards and centers bigger than him. He can even shoot threes. Teams who are interested in Horford include Miami, if Durant doesn't go there, the Wizards, and even the Mavericks, Spurs and Blazers.

6. DeMar Derozan

Derozan will surely get a max deal because he is so talented offensively. He has a knack for getting into the paint, hitting bodies and making and-ones. Derozan is also an underrated passer. But he seems to be fading on the defensive end. He will most likely stay in Toronto according to ESPN.

7. Dwyane Wade

Future hall of famer Wade says he wants to stay in Miami, but will keep his eye out for offers. Being 34 years old, his stat drop offs this season are expected. Still, he led the Heat to the second round of the playoffs, losing to the Raptors in Game 7.

8. Hassan Whiteside

Whiteside can post triple-doubles with points, rebounds and blocks, causing havoc on the opposing offense. He is also excellent at the pick-and-roll, and can catch and hammer alley-oops with ease. However, last season, he frustrated his teammates with his immaturity. If Whiteside leaves Miami, it should be for another team that has good culture.

9. Dwight Howard

Howard can still get a huge contract in lieu of his defensive skills when healthy. He's a smart defender who can make up for the defensive liabilities of his teammates. Injuries led to his demise in athletic ability and strength, and he needs work in post-up plays. Teams might prefer him over Whiteside if he agrees to a pay cut.

10. Dirk Nowitzki

Nowitzki is the greatest European player to play in the NBA, and he still delivers. He is still a top scorer in the league, and he led the Mavericks during the playoffs. Nowitzki is technically a free agent, but he will definitely stay in Dallas.
