Evan Turner, the 26-year-old Boston Celtics guard, recently compared himself to Jesus Christ when speaking about people's dislike for him.

While Turner currently plays for the Celtics, he was a member of the 76ers for four years and seemed to understand the fans' decision to boo him during game against his former team earlier this week. Although Turner admitted that the comparison might sound "super weird" he mentioned the name of Jesus when getting booed during the game.

"I don't worry about it anymore. I don't want to sound super weird, but Jesus was hated too. At the end of the day, I just worry about the stuff that's important," Turner said, according to CSN New England. "If it makes you happy to boo me, go ahead. I'm still happy. I put all that stuff behind me."

Recently, Turner decided to put another off-court issue behind him. Earlier this month, Turner decided to apologize to 33-year-old Atlanta Hawks guard Kyle Korver for saying he couldn't guard "to save his life."

"I did say that and it sounded way worse than what it was. That was wrong to say publicly and everything like that," Turner said, according to Masslive.com reports. "I apologized to Kyle for that but he didn't feel some type of way. But obviously people just run with it."

Korver accepted the apology and admitted he didn't even hear about it in the media. Turner's initial comments came after a game against the Hawks where he was explaining his frustration with the officiating taking place.

"They started pressuring and it's tough to score when you have two hands inside your jersey as well. At the same time, I got a foul call on Korver and they said I pushed him and tripped him and he just fell," Turner told the press after the game. "He can't guard to save his life and he's grabbing Marcus Thornton and he's grabbing me, and he has no business being in the game on the defensive end, but what can you possibly do if they're allowed to have their hands on you?"
